One of the main tasks of the Data Protection Supervisory Authority of Jehovah’s Witnesses is to monitor compliance with the rules of the Data Protection Act of Jehovah’s Witnesses (DSGJZ) as well as other data protection regulations (Section 24 (1) DSGJZ).

In addition, pursuant to Section 24 (3) DSGJZ, the Data Protection Supervisory Authority of Jehovah’s Witnesses has the following tasks, among others, within its scope of responsibility:

• Promote public awareness and understanding of the risks, rules, safeguards and
  rights in relation to processing (Section 24 (3) (1) DSGJZ).
• Advise structural divisions and agencies of the Religious Association on
  legislative and administrative measures relating to the protection of natural
  persons’ rights and freedoms with regard to processing (Section 24 (3) (2) DSGJZ).
• Promote awareness among controllers and processors regarding their
  obligations under the DSGJZ (Section 24 (3) (3) DSGJZ).
• Handle complaints lodged by a data subject, or by a body or organisation, and
  investigate, to the extent appropriate, the subject matter of the complaint and
  inform the complainant of the progress and the outcome of the investigation
  within a reasonable period (Section 24 (3) (5) DSGJZ). To facilitate the filing of complaints, the data protection supervisory authority maintains an online form that you can fill out on this page.
